The types of projects to be supported by the BAP Coordinatorship are given below:
CONTROLLED PROJECTS (CP):These are the projects that the BAP Commission will have expert scientists prepare in order to conduct research on issues of importance for our university and / or our country, or that will be supported on a call basis by determining the subject and conditions.
MULTIDISIPLINARY RESEARCH PROJECTS (MRP): These are interdisciplinary projects prepared by taking into account the priority areas determined by the Science, Technology and Innovation Policies Board and the strategic goals of the Higher Education Institution. The projects supported within this scope must be carried out in cooperation with at least two (2) departments from different disciplines in national or international institutions and organizations within and/or outside the institution and must be multidisciplinary. In such projects, it is obligatory for the collaborating institution/organization to contribute to the project budget and/or provide human resource support and/or provide in-kind or cash contributions such as the use of their research infrastructure within the scope of the project.
NORMAL RESEARCH PROJECTS (NRP): These are projects involving scientific research and development activities of Istanbul Gelisim University faculty members and researchers who have completed their specialty (in medicine, dentistry, pharmacy, veterinary medicine) or proficiency in art education.
CAREER STARTUP SUPPORTED PROJECTS (CSSP): These are projects aimed at supporting the research of academic staff members at our university who have completed a PhD, medical specialization, proficiency in arts, or
an equivalent specialization program, are serving in academic positions other than Associate Professor or Professor, and have not previously served as a principal investigator in any research project that received funding.
PARTICIPATORY RESEARCH PROJECTS (PRP): These are research projects to be prepared by researchers from our university in collaboration with national or international institutions and organizations. In such projects, the collaborating organization is expected to provide in-kind or financial contributions, such as contributing a certain percentage to the project budget, offering human resource support, and/or granting access to research infrastructure not available at our university within the scope of the project.
FAST SUPPORT PROJECTS (FSP): These are projects aimed at supporting short-term and small-budget research with the potential to evolve into a regular research project. The project duration is limited to a maximum of 12 months, and no extensions are granted for this type of project.
Graduate Thesis / Dissertation Projects - Master Degree and PhD (GTP - MD and GTP - PhD): These are research projects that involve graduate theses and are conducted by faculty members serving as thesis advisors together with their students. Graduate-level educational activities that do not result in the preparation of a thesis are not eligible for Graduate Thesis Project support.
UNDERGRADUATE STUDENT PARTICIPATORY RESEARCH PROJECTS (USPRP): These are research projects designed to foster an R&D culture among successful undergraduate students enrolled in programs of our university that offer bachelor's degree education lasting four years or more. The aim is to encourage and motivate students to engage in research activities. In these projects, led by faculty members as principal investigators, a minimum of one (1) and a maximum of three (3) undergraduate students can participate as researchers.
INTERNATIONAL SCIENTIFIC RESEARCH COOPERATION SUPPORT PACKAGE (ISRCSP): These are research projects conducted by researchers from our university in collaboration with researchers from internationally renowned universities or prominent research centers globally recognized in their respective fields. Projects to be carried out at universities ranked in the top 200 in the overall world rankings or in research area-specific rankings relevant to the project topic, according to the ARWU (Academic Ranking of World Universities) or Times (Times Higher Education World University Rankings) in the current or preceding year, are eligible for support. Additionally, projects conducted at internationally significant research centers outside of universities will also be supported. The decision regarding which research centers fall within the scope of support will be determined by the BAP (Scientific Research Projects) Commission. The duration of the research at the respective institution must be between a minimum of 6 weeks and a maximum of 6 months. However, financial support for stays at the foreign research institution is limited to a maximum of 3 months (up to 89 days). Under this support program, research-related travel expenses for staying abroad will be provided for only one researcher from the project team in accordance with the principles outlined in Annex-6.
